As a junior set up we had a fantastic year allowing for over 100 young cricketers to have a positive experience of club cricket.

A really positive year this year for our junior section with our U11s, 13s and 15s having enjoyable campaigns. The highlight of the year was the fact we were able to offer playing shirts and caps to all junior members thanks to the sponsorship from the GMB trade union. As a club committed to trying to make cricket as accessible as possible for all this was a really big thing for us and looking good on the pitch certainly helped our players as a team.

Our U11s had another positive year with numbers building throughout the season and all of the players contributing to a really positive atmosphere. Despite the weather beating us on many occasions the side managed to win 4 of their 9 league games and create lots of positive memories along the way. Special thanks to Ifty for his management of the side over the last 2 seasons and as well to Taz and James for their help coaching and of course Phil for his match reports. We look forward to the majority of the side progressing into U13s and continuing their development at Kirkstall.

The U13s were also an absolute credit to the club last year competing really well and winning 6 games in the year, something which could have been much more. We thank Shoaib for his leadership of the team this year and for helping to develop the players with significant improvements during the season. We hope to see this continue next season both in junior and hopefully senior cricket for some!

Another improvement was seen in our U15 team who completed 3 wins this season and again we saw some significant improvement over the season. With plenty of talent and some much-needed numbers from the U13s moving up the years, we are hoping to continue this progression further in 2024.

As well as our hardball sides we also ran both All Stars and Dynamos this year to a combined number of over 50 young people enjoying their first stages of cricket at Kirkstall. We look forward to continuing to provide these opportunities in 2024 and hoping to start more new cricketing careers.
